Your mew Home in Emek Hefer - Israel
Emek Hefer is an agricultural region located in the Center of Israel between Netanya to the south and Hadera to the north.
Location - Bordered on the west by the Mediterranean and on the east by the Palestinian Authority.
Population – 35,000 all of whom live on moshavim, kibbutzim and communal settlements.
There is a high awareness of environmental protection in the region with emphasis on the rehabilitation of the Alexander River (for which the region received an international first prize) in partnership with the Palestinian Authority and in particular the Mayor of neighboring Tulkarem. The project has succeeded in the disposal of manure from the dairies and recycling of sewage water for irrigation. –Tours can be arranged
Moshav – an agricultural community with private homes based on agriculture (dairies, orchards, flowers, poultry, etc.) There are 28 moshavim in the region.
Kibbutz – a cooperative community based on agriculture and industry. There are 7 kibbutzim in the region.
Community settlements – rural communities (not cooperative).
Nature Reserves – Tours can be arranged

Tourism – The changes and transformations in the agricultural areas (moshavim and kibbutzim) led to the realization that new sources of income are needed.
Emek Hefer has numerous touring sites, guesthouses and rural accommodations.
Emek Hefer is located on the seam line. Special tours of the security barrier can be arranged with a first hand understanding of its need and importance from our partnership community’s perspective.
It also has a horse riding school, beautiful beaches, tennis courts, golf courses (Caesarea and Gaash), restaurants (see accompanying page), art galleries, gift shops, alternative medical treatment, petting zoos, wineries, dairies, nurseries, banquet halls and gardens and the Beit Terezin museum. Beit Terezin is a museum established by Holocaust survivors from the Teriesenstadt Ghetto.
Climate: Moderate during most of the year. During December-February, there is winter weather including rain; there is a short spring during March-May; and a long summer (during July-August it is especially hot).
